Citywide Garage Sale

The annual citywide garage sale will be held on Saturday, June 1. If you would like to register your garage sale, you may do so at the Lake Park Municipal Utilities office anytime before May 28. We will post the locations of all the registered garage sales on this website on May 28.

H-LP boys win conference golf meet, girls take second

The Cornbelt Conference held its league golf championships Monday with the boys team traveling to West Bend and the girls playing in Graettinger.

 

The boys title came down to a playoff at West Bend, where Harris-Lake Park snuck by rival Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire to get the championship. Both teams finished the day with scores of 341. West Bend-Mallard wound up third (365), North Union fourth (368), C-W-L fifth (373), Ventura sixth (377), and Clay Central-Everly seventh (399). A top the leaderboard was Dylan Smith of GT/RA, with a round of 78, besting H-LP's Ryan Gembler by a stroke (79). The Wolves also received an 81 from Nathan Kyle, an 89 by Ryan Mann, and a 92 on the card of Tanner Hiveley. GT/RA had scores of 81 from Blaze Alesch, an 89 by Ethan Peterson, and a 93 from Tyler Dalen.

The girls meet would be won handily by North Union. The Warriors totaled a 415, finishing 39 shots better than second-place Harris-Lake Park (454). Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire took third (511), followed by Clay Central-Everly fourth (520), West Bend-Mallard fifth (528), Ventura sixth (544), and C-W-L seventh (587). Medalist honors went to Brittney Evans of North Union with a 97, a stroke better than H-LP's Macy Gunderson with a round of 98 to finish runner-up. The Lady Wolves also counted a 114 from Rachel Vellema and a 118 by Noreen Morrow, both earning 2nd Team All-Conference honors. Emily Anderson came in with a 124 and Amanda Hibma a 126 to earn 3rd Team All-Cornbelt accolades.
