Lake Park is located around the south and east sides of Silver Lake. The lake is 1,066 acres (1.67 square miles) in size with 9.6 miles of shoreline. Silver Lake has an average depth of 6.5 feet with a maximum depth of 9.8 feet. There are three hard-surfaced boat ramps around the lake for boaters to use. One is on the west end off of 110th Avenue; another is on the south side just off of Iowa Highway 9 along Country Club Drive. The third is on the east side of the lake just north of the dam. There are no motor restrictions on Silver Lake.
Fishing in Silver Lake is a year-round activity for many. Fish commonly caught in the lake include black bullhead, channel catfish, northern pike, walleye, white bass and yellow perch.
