It is with disappointment that the City of Lake Park must announce that our outdoor pool will not be opening for the summer season.
We know the pool is a beloved summer attraction and a staple of our community, but ensuring the safety of our residents and visitors, as well as making financially responsible decisions for the city's future, remains our top priority.
What Happened?
As many of you know, city crews were preparing to install a new liner in our pool this spring. Unfortunately, during the removal of the old liner, our crew discovered critical, unforeseen structural issues. Major sections of the concrete walls beneath the liner are disintegrating and failing. The sheer extent of the necessary repairs makes it impossible to open the facility this year. There are too many repairs that need to be done, and crews can't get here quick enough to make those repairs and get open for the summer.
While this is tough news for the upcoming summer, the City leadership is committed to the long-term recreational needs of our residents.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this unexpected challenge. Please stay tuned to this page for further updates.
