Rescue

Lake Park Rescue in the Farmer Appreciation Days parade.Lake Park Rescue has been in service since 1990. Through difficult times and lack of interest, the first ambulance service in Lake Park closed in November 1988. Lake Park was without an ambulance for about 18 months and had to rely on the Spirit Lake Ambulance to respond to emergencies in Lake Park.

In May of 1990, the ambulance service was reorganized with an ambulance supplied by the Spirit Lake Hospital. This brought many new volunteers and thus the beginning of Lake Park Rescue which remains today.

Lake Park Rescue has 16 dedicated volunteers with many years of experience and knowledge. The certification levels vary from person to person, ranging from nurse to EMT to paramedic. They provide care at an Advanced Level and are always looking for more dedicated volunteers to join the service. Helping a patient and saving a life is extremely rewarding. If you would be interested in joining Lake Park Rescue please contact the Lake Park Rescue President, Steve Hopkins at 712-832-3706.
