The Harris-Lake Park Boys Golf Team won the Class 1A State Golf Championship today in Newton.Heavy rains Friday morning in Newton forced the Iowa High School Athletic Association to cancel day two of the boys Class 1A State Golf Tournament, making Thursday's scores at the tournament final and Harris-Lake Park the Class 1A State Champions.
The Wolves ended Thursday in first place by three strokes over last year's state champion, Grundy Center. Harris-Lake Park took second place last year in the tournament.
Individually, Lucas Gunderson was second with a score of 74, Isaac Ihnen tied for 8th place with 79, and Adrian Martin tied for 13th place with 82. Jaxon Heikens (T24), Braydan Perkins (T26), and Brody Sohn (T36) ended Thursday with scores of 87, 89, and 95 respectively. (See all scores here)
