The City of Lake Park Iowa plans to submit a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application for $500,000 to the Iowa Department of Economic Development by July 1, 2020. The City of Lake Park is seeking CDBG funds for a wastewater system improvements project. The current Wastewater Facility is located at approximately 501 South Market Street, Lake Park Iowa. The City owns and operates the WWTP, which serves residential and commercial uses within the City. As a requirement of the CDBG program a low-to-moderate income (LMI) survey was completed and resulted in an estimated 53.37% of the persons benefitting considered LMI. This project is estimated to cost $6,030,000.00. The City anticipates funding the local match with local City of Lake Park Funding. If awarded a CDBG, it is estimated $266,850.00 of the $500,000 CDBG funds spent on the project will benefit persons of low to moderate income (LMI). No person or businesses will be displaced as a result of this project or funded activities. A public hearing on this project and the city’s Community Development Block Grant application will be held Monday, June 8th, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lake Park City Hall, 217 Market Street, Lake Park, IA. If you have questions concerning the proposed project or if you require special accommodations to attend the hearing such as handicapped accessibility or translation services, you may contact Marie Matthiesen, City Clerk at 712- 832-3527. Persons interested in the submittal of the CDBG application are welcome to attend this meeting.
